I make collages from mainly reclaimed magazines and newspapers. This is partly because recycling is good for the environment, but also because I find it satisfying to use something that would’ve been thrown away and turn it into something new. I leaned more heavily into this material after experiencing chronic pain in my dominant hand; I needed something I could do with my left hand that would still allow for precision in forms. My subject matter varies widely, but I value aesthetics strongly in every piece.
